Coach Dixie Macias is in his eighteenth year.

He served as volunteer coach, then as an assistant coach for 5 years under the tutelage of the legendary Tom Chivington, architect of 13 State Championships, numerous Northern California and 26 league championships. Coach Macias has added 15 conference titles to the total and a State Finalist three times. Foothill has been in the California top ten team rankings 16 times during Dixie’s tenure.

He has been selected as Coast Conference Coach of the year seven times and Coach of the Year for California Community Colleges once.

Prior to becoming the men’s coach he was the Foothill College women’s tennis coach garnering a league title and producing two All Americans.

He has coached junior players at the regional, national, and internationally he has coached in Germany, Spain, Australia, Fiji and Tonga.  He has also coached in the professional ranks.

He has worked with tennis legends, Tony Roche and John Newcomb, in Australia.  He has gone through the coaches’ program at the Sanchez-Casals Academia in Barcelona, Spain.

He is certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialists and Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and as a Strength and Conditioning Tennis specialist through the Etcheberry Experience.
