CCCAA #1 ranked Foothill College Men's Soccer takes down Los Positas & Skyline College in Conference play

Owls Grab The Number #1 Ranking in the State!

After winning their 12th game in a row against Skyline College to begin conference play, the Foothill College mens soccer team is the top ranked team in all of California. From the opening kickoff it looked like this was going to be a very good match, with both teams creating opportunities, but it was Foothill who opened the scoring, with a brilliant direct free kick from Dane Pendleton, giving the Skyline keeper no chance, as the ball curled into the top corner. Just 10 minutes later, Tyler Ohman doubled the lead for Foothill, bringing a corner kick under control and calmly slotting the ball passed the diving keeper.

In the second half, Skyline got a goal back making the score 2-1, but Foothill's determination and resilience shined through and they restored the 2 goal lead when Ohman found Pendleton with a precise through ball and Pendleton touched the ball around the goalie and passed it into the empty net. Sealing the Owls 12th win of the season.

"It has been an exciting journey so far, we have an extremely competitive group of young men, that play for each other. Each game has brought different challenges, but these boys continue to believe and execute. We are a young team, having only 4 Sophomores, but we gain experience with each game that we play and I feel that our best soccer is still ahead of us."

— Head Coach Mike Sharabi

The Owls next test will be Friday October 22nd at Hartnell College. This game will feature the top 2 teams in the state, and will put the winner in the drivers seat for the number 1 seed in the regional playoffs.
