The West Valley tennis team started 2024 with Coast Conference wins over Foothill and Cañada sandwiched around a victory over Big 8 foe Diablo Valley. The league wins made it 14 straight for coach Lauren Hickey's Vikings, including last year's 12-0 championship campaign.
Lindsay Lee and Faith Son, WVC's #1 doubles team, were 3-0 as a pair and 2-0 each in singles in the trio of wins. Kristina Gazaryan won all three of her singles matches and teamed with Huiguan Liu for a D2 victory against Cañada. Angelica Harlan Aparicio and Bailey Sylva picked up a pair of doubles wins.
The Vikings (3-1, 2-0 Coast) travel to Cabrillo (1-0, 0-0)) Tuesday (2/13) and host City College of San Francisco (1-1, 1-0) Friday (2/16). Both matches are slated to begin at 2:00pm. Perennial NorCal power American River (2-0, 0-0 Big 8) comes to Saratoga Saturday (2/17). First serve is 11:00am.
