GILROY – The Gavilan College women's basketball team battles but came up just short in a 68-62 Coast Conference South Division loss to visiting Foothill College on Wednesday.
Despite the setback, Genesis Orellana Moreta had a big game for the Rams, posting a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Jay Trejo, making her first appearance of the season for Gavilan, totaled 15 points and 7 rebounds.
Also for the Rams, Angelina Marquez had 15 points and 9 rebounds.
Gavilan dropped to 0-16 overall and 0-2 in the Coast Conference South Division. The Rams return to their home court on Friday (Jan. 19) to take on San Jose City College at 7 p.m.
