CCSF extends winning streak to five; ranked No. 4 in latest ITA Northern California poll

SAN FRANCISCO – The City College of San Francisco women's tennis team surged to its fifth straight win thanks to an 8-1 Coast Conference victory over visiting Foothill College on Friday.

The Rams improved to 6-1 overall this season and remain perfect in conference play at 6-0.

CCSF continues to dominate the competition. During the five-match stretch, the Rams have outscored their opponents by a 42-3 margin.

San Francisco returns to action this weekend (Mar. 15-16) for a pair of non-conference matches in Fresno. The Rams are set to take on San Diego City College on Friday at 10 a.m. and Fresno City on Saturday, also at 10 a.m.

ITA RANKINGS

Thanks to its impressive open to the season, CCSF is rated No. 4 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northern California Rankings that were released on Mar. 7.

CCSF's lone loss came to No. 2 Sierra College on Feb. 9. A matchup against No. 1 American River College on Mar. 2 was postponed.

This weekend's opponent, San Diego City, is currently ranked No. 8 in the Southern California poll while Fresno City checks in at No. 5 in the Northern California rankings.
