The Foothill Women's Volleyball Team started practice on August 6th, and with only 9 days of practice have started scrimmaging. Their first event was Friday, August 17 at Solano College, hosted by. Coach Darla Williams.

The event was very unique. Six teams scrimmaged each other for a 30 minute time period and then took a 30 minute rest while a different six teams played. While the first six teams rested, a second group of six scrimmaged, and so forth. Although no score was kept, the format gave prospective referees the opportunity to practice their skills with live teams, before the true season starts.

The teams Foothill scrimmaged included Shasta, CSM, Cuesta, Hartnell, Santa Rosa and Delta.  The event was held in Vallejo, which is 1.5 hour drive north depending on traffic. After six more hours of playing volleyball, and the drive back, the players and coaches are grateful to Jose Gomez of the Los Altos Safeway for his generous gift card donation which helped sustain their nutritional needs!
