2017 Women's Soccer Recap

Foothill College won the 2017 Coast Conference League Championship, undefeated against the other teams in the division. This is the 5th time in the last 10 years that the Foothill College Women's Soccer has been awarded the Coast Conference league title. The team's strengths were highlighted in the end of the season awards given out, winning both the Defensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year.

Morgan Matthews won the Defensive Player of the Year award, "a well deserved recognition of her hard work on and off the field this year," said head coach Owen Flannery. On offense, the successes continued with sophomore Jazmin Latimore leading the team in assists. Her ability to "find her teammates in open spaces in front of the goal was consistent all season long. Her speed and accurate passing were crucial in consistently getting us on the scoreboard," reflected assistant coach Alan Kute.

The team's successes on both sides of the field were a direct result of the hard work and dedication of the players, but the coaching staff helped them become League Champions. The season ended for the Owls on a high note, with many things to be proud of.
